Short & Sweet Win for U13s

Middlewich Under 13’s league campaign got underway with a convincing win over Rode Park CC on Monday on a lovely spring evening.

Harrison Foster won the toss and elected to put Rode Park into bat as he fancied chasing a target and opened the bowling again with James Irving (3-2-3) who was far too much of a match for Rode Park’s batting.

At the other end came Will Brock (3-1-2-1) who was using the new ball well, moving it in the air and off the seam which saw him take the 3rd wicket of the night within 3 overs.

Josh Cummings topped the bowling figures with 3-1-2 and by the end of his spell, Rode Park were 5 wickets down with the tail end not looking likely to add many more to the total.

Rode Park held on for the full 20 overs but only managed to put 21 on the board with the loss of 1 more wicket, leaving Middlewich 22 to win.

Pete Hare & Harrison Foster opened the batting and Pete Hare got his seasons tally under way beating fine leg for 4 runs, but sadly that was his night.

James Irving came out to meet Harrison Foster in the middle and both agreed they were finishing the game off together which they did within 3 overs.

Overall a very convincing win for Middlewich, but a very honorable Rode Park let the game play on which gave everyone at least an over each to bowl and bat.
